The Food Court

I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes.

We decided to grab a bite at the food court.

I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.

The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors: green, red, orange, and blue.

My dad kept staring at him. The teenager would look and find him staring every time.

When the teenager had enough, he sarcastically asked,"What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?"

Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response; knowing he would have a good one.

And in classic style he did not bat an eye in his response. "Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my son."

Motivational Quote #004

"The greater danger for most of us in not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it."

Kommitted

Have you ever been so committed to something you feel you should be committed to a mental institution? Ever find yourself in situations that are miserable or difficult and think it would be easier to "bail out" than to "stick it out"? But for some reason, you "stick it out" cause its the right thing to do...

Well, I feel nuttier than a squirrel turd.

With a little sarcastic laughter and self finger pointing, I often say, "It sucks to be me." Sometimes life just doesn't deal you the hand that you want. Sometimes you tend to stand back and look at the hand that others have been dealt and think, "They have got it made", whether it be financially, spiritually, mentally, physically, etc...whatever it might be, the lives of other people always tend to look better than the one you have. But how strange it is, that the cards they've been dealt aren't necessarily the cards they play and you come to realize, "It's gotta suck to be them..."

"But who cares about "them", who has time to? Life is too short to worry about them. You only need to worry about you (and those whose lives you have a great impact on, like spouse, children, etc.) And most important, don't give a crap about what others think about you.

This is my Blog, about me, about my life, about changes and commitments that I make and well, have made. That in the larger scope of things will make me a better individual. I'm going to write about past, present, and future. Experiences that I have had, that have made me who I am today. And goals/changes that will make me a better person tomorrow. I'm going to post things that I find of interest, funny, sad, etc...things that help me stay grounded and somewhat sane. I hope for this to be motivational or inspirational for anyone who might find it beneficial...I know it will be for me. Maybe by blogging, I'll stop talking to myself...haha.

Yep it sucks to be me...but I have much to be grateful for. I am happy, content, and I am KOMMITTED!

P.S. : I'd Shoot That!

We All Need Some Motivation

By definition motivation means: that which motivates, that which makes us take action towards our desired goals and which gives us purpose and direction to those actions. Now we all know that very often we lose our motivation and we allow procrastination to dominate our life. Without our motivation we stop taking action and doing the things we really want to do, we stop achieving the things we really want to achieve and we stop believing we are capable of becoming whoever we want to be.

The secret to beating procrastination is that we need to keep motivated. Everyday we must do something, anything that gets us motivated, whether it’s listening to your favorite song, going for that morning run, or simply reading some quotes. Everyday we must motivate ourselves because when we are motivated we have energy, we have ideas and we all have dreams and we pursue those dreams with our unbounded faith that we will achieve them and more.

Personally I often find myself in constant need of motivation, I welcome that simple quote, or thought, that little thing that tells me that "I can keep going" or "Life is good". I do know I can keep going, and I do know that Life is good. But I enjoy the reminders every now and then.
